W E L C O M E !
Women in Science (WiS) at Western University is a student-led organization dedicated to supporting and encouraging women in the Faculty of Science. We aim to foster a vibrant community of friendship, leadership and mentorship to bridge connections and showcase talented women in our community.
MISSION STATEMENT
Women in Science seeks to identify and eliminate the sources of gender disparity in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). Women in Science aims to encourage inclusivity and continued contributions of women in scientific enterprise, starting on the Western University campus.
HOW WE DO IT
We aim to build community through academic and social events. We encourage open-hearted conversations, while providing a safe, welcoming environment for open-minded learning from each other.
We run a variety of different events throughout the school year, including workshops, socials, speaker series, and the semi-annual general meetings. Do you have an idea for an event? Let us know through the contact form or via email.
INTERESTED? GET INVOLVED!
We are just starting out, and we are so excited to meet you! Equality for women in STEM is a community-wide problem, and we can't do it alone. Find out how to join Women in Science UWO as an executive, committee member, first year rep or general member.
